This two-day training program featured professors from universities across China and Latin America who shared experiences on topics including digital Chinese language teaching and classroom practice innovation, professional development pathways for local Chinese language teachers, trends in international Chinese language education, and key challenges in Chinese language learning.

Roberto Lafontaine, Director of CLEC Foundation Latin America and Caribbean Regional Office (中外语言交流合作中心), stated in his opening remarks that this training responds to the real needs of Chinese language education in the region, will significantly strengthen the team of local Chinese language teachers, and will provide support for promoting high-quality development of Chinese language education in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Former Chilean President Frei attended the event and noted that the exchange of knowledge and culture holds equal importance to trade and economic cooperation, serving as a key factor in advancing China-Latin America relations to a new stage. Creating new spaces for cooperation in these fields represents both a challenge and an opportunity for Chinese language teachers in Latin America.

Chinese Ambassador to Chile Niu Qingbao stated that the training of local Chinese language teachers, strengthening of exchange and mutual trust between educators and students from both regions, and promotion of sustainable development of Chinese language education in Latin America are concrete expressions of the five pillars for building a shared community of destiny between China and Latin America. In the era of rapid technological advancement, it is possible to continuously improve the professional capacity and teaching level of Chinese language educators through emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, achieving more precise, efficient, and inclusive Chinese language education through intelligent teaching platforms, thereby promoting deeper and more substantial mutual understanding between Chinese and Latin American peoples.

This training was organized by CLEC Foundation Latin America and Caribbean Regional Office, Santo Tomás University of Chile, East China Normal University, and Anhui University, through the Regional Center for Training and Development of Local Chinese Language Teachers for Latin America, and was primarily aimed at Chinese language teachers from Chile, Argentina, and Brazil.
